Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is one of the world’s fastest growing water sports. We have seen an explosion of the sport in the UK the last couple of years.
SUP is a highly accessible, fun and social way to enjoy sea or inland waters. Almost anyone can do it, whatever your age, skill or fitness level. We’ve had students from 6 to 75 and also people with physical disabilities.
Within just a couple of hours, you will have mastered the basics.
Boards, paddles and buoyancy aids are provided by Ocean High and you will learn using the latest boards from Starboard, who have the highest environmental ethos of any brand……which is very close to our hearts. They also happen to be the leaders in paddleboard innovation and technology. We love their boards. Our courses are run in safe waters off Marazion in west Cornwall as well as the shelter of Penzance harbour when conditions dictate. All our instructors are senior Paddle UK, ASI or BUPA qualified and fully insured.
We guarantee you will leave with a smile on your face and a new passion!
Wetsuits are available to hire for £7 should you need one.
In just one hour, we will teach you board safety, assessment of the conditions and location, introduction to the board (without a paddle to start with to get a ‘feel’ for it) and self-recovery techniques. We then add the paddle to the mix and get you up and riding in no time.
By the end of the session, you will almost certainly be able to confidently paddle a board. Above all, you will be having fun and will want to have another go! Boards are then available to hire after your intro course so you can put all you have learned into practice on your own.
